WASHINGTON (Stocksak), – On Thursday, more than 300 groups, including the National Retail Federation & National Association of Manufacturers, urged President Joe Biden to intervene in a possible rail strike that could have serious consequences for the U.S. economy.

A second union voted no on Wednesday to ratify a national tentative accord reached in September, raising the possibility of labor disruptions later in the year.

The groups stated that there were concerns that others might follow. “If this were to happen, we could witness a striking that would shut down the entire freight train system.”
