TOKYO (Stocksak), Tuesday, February 8, 2009 – Japanese authorities are in constant contact with their American counterparts and are ready to take appropriate actions in the currency market against volatile movements in the yen, Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki stated on Tuesday.

Suzuki also stated in a post-cabinet news conference that he didn’t see any contradiction between the government’s yen-buying currency intervention (and the Bank of Japan’s ultra-loose monetary policy).
