VILNIUS, Stocksak – The European Central Bank (ECB), said Gediminas SIMKUS, a Lithuanian policymaker on Friday that it may need to increase its inflation projections for December.

Simkus stated that the ECB’s looming conversation on winding up its asset purchase program should focus on the potential start date and amounts by which it would be reduced.

Thursday’s doubled of the ECB’s deposit rate to 1.5% was done to combat inflation. Further policy tightening is required.
