Wasabi used Bitcoin transactions by Chinese agents to bribe US officials
The United States Department of Justice has filed charges against two Chinese intelligence officials who allegedly bribed an agent with.
In an Oct. 24, announcement, the Justice Department Guochun Wang, Zheng Wang and Zheng Wang attempted obstruction to the prosecution of an unnamed global telecom company based in China. This allegedly involved paying a U.S. citizen roughly $61,000 in Bitcoin bribes (BTC). However, the person was a double agent who worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The individual did not move against New York authorities in the Eastern District of New York to face the case against the China company.
