Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
The Sydney close saw the price rise 1.54%.
The session’s top performers were Evolution Mining Ltd (ASX :), which rose 7.73%, or 0.14 points, to trade at 1.95 at close. Meanwhile, Gold Road Resources Ltd (ASX): Added 6.43%, or 0.08 points, to end at 1.33 Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX:) was up 6.1% or 0.31 points at 5.38 in late trading.
The session’s worst performers were Austal Ltd (ASX): The ASX fell 6.25% or 0.15 point to trade at 2.25 by the close. Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX:) fell 2.37% or 0.05 points to finish at 2.06 Mesoblast Ltd (ASX:), was down 2.07%, or 0.02 points, to 0.94.
Rising stocks outnumbered decliners on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 797, 507 and 374 respectively.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 0.20% to 18.80.
The December delivery of Gold Futures was down 0.1% or 1.70 to $1654.60 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, Crude oil fell 1.42% or 1.21 to $83.84 per barrel. The January Brent oil contract fell 1.34 or 1.22 to trade for $90.12 per barrel.
AUD/USD fell 1.11%, to 0.63. AUD/JPY climbed 0.01% to 94.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures was at 112.24, up 0.2%
